The volume of in state and out of state fishermen who frequent this body of water during the season made creating a DDM of the Wachusett Reservoir a must.The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) owns most of the land surrounding the Reservoir and has set up a series of rules to protect one of the city of Boston's drinking supplies. This DDM shows six different fishing locations scattered across the reservoir on nine different map segments as three types of thematic maps, including a topographic, an orthophoto and a DCR gate map. In-depth trail guides are provided to navigate a fishmerman from his or her parking location to a specific point on the reservoir. There is extensive photo documentation on both wildlife and scenery, a brief historic summary of Wachusett Reservoir, and more, all combined in the interactive maps of this DDM.
